Go Canadiens!

Let's hope that this year the Montreal Canadiens do a little bit better than they did last year. I like Boston, and it sucks that they always end up meeting each other in the play offs but if would be nice to see those two teams go a bit further than they did.

The Montreal Canadiens have a powerful franchise. They have some classic hockey jerseys to match their classic hockey legends. When you can walk down the locker room walls and know that players like Guy LaFleur and Patrick Roy once walked them before you, you know you are in the halls of greatness.

Montreal Canadiens Current Alternate Hockey Jersey

Every team these days likes to break out the alternate hockey jerseys from time to time. No one likes to play in the same thing day in and day out and the fans don't particularly like watching the same old same old either. Following in their tradition of harkening back to the legends of hockey that have graced the Canadien's rink the team has chosen to use one of their oldest hockey jersey designs for their alternate jersey.

The red and white striped design doesn't have the now classic C and H emblem all of the other Montreal jerseys have but it does show one interesting fact:

The Canadian flag, with the Maple Leaf design, was inspired by this hockey jersey's emblem and the emblem of the Toronto Maple Leafs. Pretty cool, huh?

Montreal Canadiens Current Away Hockey Jersey

The current Montreal Canadiens Away jersey is a little bit simpler than it's Home brother. It does away with most of the blue striping and cuts right down to the basic Canadiens logo with red shoulders and cuffs.

The Canadiens have tried their best to keep their hockey jerseys designs as simple as possible because they are a team with a rich and prominent history. Montreal is proud of the many players who have worn their hockey jerseys and they try to retain the design so that those great players will constantly be remembered.

When players like Guy LaFleur and Patrick Roy have worn your jersey you want to keep it the same forever.

Current Montreal Canadiens Home Hockey Jersey

The Montreal Canadiens have held on to their hockey jersey design forever it seems. Most teams tend to change it up a little bit from year to year but the Canadiens are steadfast in their dedication to this classic design.

The National Hockey League changed up everyone's jerseys a while back and made it so that the darker hockey jerseys would be worn for Home games and the lighter jerseys would be worn for the Away games. This switch makes it so that the Canadiens now play in their deep red hockey jerseys for Home games.

A lot of you might be wondering what the emblem represents on the Home hockey jersey. The C with the H in the middle stands for both Canadiens and Habs. Habs is a nickname for French Canadiens that has kind of gone the way of the dodo lately but was pretty popular when the team first came out. Montreal is proud of its French Canadien heritage.
